Manchester United Defenders Future Set To Be Finally Decided

|

This summer, you may have noticed that on more than the odd occasion, the future of Chris Smalling has been discussed on this site.

Our latest article on the 30-year-old centre-back –manchester-united-still-not-certain-where-defender-will-be-playing-next-season – discussed the possibility that Smalling could remain in Serie A next season but with Inter Milan, instead of with Roma where he spent last season on loan.

However, since that article was penned, it appears that things have turned full circle.

This morning (Friday), The Athletic is championing the suggestion that Smalling is indeed set to remain in the eternal city with if being inferred that Roma and Manchester United are close to agreeing on a permanent deal for the former England defender.

According to our referenced source, a fee said to be in the region of £20 million, is close to being agreed for the services of the centre-back.

Personally, I would like to have seen Smalling given another chance at Old Trafford, but is that something you would like to have seen?
