United Women Find out FA Cup Opponents

|

Manchester United Women will play Championship side Sunderland AFC Ladies in the fourth round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

As Manchester United are in the Women’s Super League, they got a bye until the fourth round of the tournament alongside Arsenal, and Chelsea. Manchester City and the rest of the WSL teams.

Sunderland currently sits one place above the bottom in 11th place in the Championship as they face United for the first-ever competitive game.

The Black Cats last game in the FA Cup was in the third round against Blackburn Rovers with both sides drawing a replay that took place last Sunday.

With the North East outfit winning 1-0, United will now travel to Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground, the game will take place on the weekend of the 28th or 29th of January.

Marc Skinner’s side last played on the 18th of December against Sheffield United winning 4-0. They will look to translate their great form from the WSL to the FA Cup.

If United Women do beat Sunderland AFC Ladies they could be one of the favourites to go on to win the domestic cup, which would be their first ever piece of silverware in the United’s Women’s team history.
