Manchester United’s 11-match unbeaten run comes to an end against Arsenal, as they lost 3-2.

Manchester United made one change against the team that drew with Crystal Palace on Wednesday, with Casemiro being suspended and Scott McTominay coming in for the Brazilian.

Arsenal started the game with intent on the front foot in the first five minutes. United from the five-minute mark then started to get on the ball more, resulting in Marcus Rashford scoring in the 17th minute.

Seven minutes later Arsenal scored through a Granit Xhaxa cross to the unmarked Eddie Nketiah who made the game level.

For the rest of the first half it was even with the Gunners having the better opportunities as Erik Ten Hag’s side tried to keep playing on the counterattack, but still opposing the threat up front with Rashford, Wout Weghorst and Antony.

In the second half Mikel Arteta’s men started well again as United’s defensive barrier had been breached, Bukayo Saka performed some brilliant individual play as he scored from outside the box with his dangerous left foot.

The Red Devils responded however six minutes later with a Lisandro Martinez well-worked header which saw the away end erupt. United had chances to counterattack but did not make the most out of them.

As Arsenal wanted the win more they got the final and decisive goal from Nketiah again as the Emirates became an intimidating atmosphere for the United players to play in.

United’s next game is against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup Semi-Final first leg on Wednesday at eight o’clock.
