Predicted line-up to take on Arsenal – Opinion

|

Manchester United take on Arsenal, and this is how we think United will line-up for the game at 4.30pm UK time.

David de Gea – The ‘keeper will start and he has good memories of playing against Arsenal at the Emirates as he pulled off a remarkable 14 saves to help United win 3-1 back in December 2017 [The Guardian].

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – With Dalot not travelling down with the team to London [Vital United], I think Wan-Bissaka will play at right-back, and the former Crystal Palace man has impressed in recent weeks, and hopefully that continues today.

Raphael Varane – United’s Rolls Royce at the back will be crucial in helping his side get a victory over an Arsenal side, who have won 15 of their 18 games so far in the league.

Lisandro Martinez – Having played his first 90 minutes in the Premier League against the Eagles since winning the World Cup with Argentina, I think he will start again today alongside Varane.

Luke Shaw – This was a difficult one because both Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are good options for this game, but I think Erik ten Hag will opt for Shaw ahead of the Dutchman.

Scott McTominay – In order to minimise the absence of Casemiro, I think ten Hag will go for three in midfield to try and stop Arsenal from playing, which is why I think McTominay will start.

Christian Eriksen – The Dane will have to be smart with his passing and his experience could be crucial in a game like this.

Fred – The Brazilian will be important and his energy can be valuable in a game of this magnitude, because if he can man-mark Kevin de Bruyne effectively, then he is capable of stopping Martin Odegaard.

Bruno Fernandes – I think he will start on the right but when United are defending, I think he will tuck into create a box and stop Arsenal from breaking the lines with their passing.

Marcus Rashford – The United in-form man will be crucial to his sides chances of winning this game, and he will be important when in and out of possession.

Wout Weghorst – With Martial unlikely to be fit for this game, I think the Netherlands striker will start for ten Hag’s side today, and his link-up play and movements will be vital as United aim to make the pitch as wide as possible.
