United travelling squad for Arsenal clash

|

The Manchester United travelling squad for the trip to Arsenal has been confirmed via the Manchester Evening News.

It looks as though there will be two players missing for the game at the Emirates as Diogo Dalot and Anthony Martial were not with the team on the train to London according to the Samuel Luckhurst of MEN.

Casemiro is already missing the game against Arsenal because he is suspended, having picked up five yellow cards.

If the article by Luckhurst is right then Martial’s absence means that it is likely that Wout Weghorst will make his second Manchester United start, having made his debut in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

It remains to be seen who will take Casemiro’s place in the starting XI but Erik ten Hag does have options at his disposal as he could decide to play a midfield trio of Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay and Fred in order to minimise the impact of losing Casemiro because him not playing is a blow for United.

Erik ten Hag has told the official Man United website that Jadon Sancho will not be involved on Sunday, and that is to be expected, given that he has only returned to training this week, in what is a welcome boost for everyone associated with United [via Man Utd].

The game between Arsenal and United at the Emirates Stadium kicks off at 4.30pm UK time and for those in the UK, they have the option of either watching the game on Sky Sports Main Event or Sky Sports Premier League.
