Manchester United Had A Lucky Escape When It Comes To Not Signing This Player

|

As the closure of the transfer window, on Monday, approached numerous column inches appeared relating to Manchester United making a move for the Barcelona forward, Ousmane Dembele.

Our latest offering on the subject – manchester-united-set-to-miss-out-on-signing-this-star-as-premier-league-rivals-get-set-to-swoop – suggested that any move for the 23-year-old French forward was doomed to fail and that Dembele, if he were to leave Barcelona, could head to one of our Premier League rivals.

But, with the transfer window now closed, apart from trading with EFL clubs, a more sinister story is emerging.

According to The Mirror, Dembele had no intention of coming to Old Trafford, instead, the suggestion is that the striker has ambitions of joining Juventus, next summer.

If that is the case, I consider Manchester United had a narrow escape.

When it comes to new signings, my golden rule, if they are to be a success, is that they must want to make the move and not move for purely financial reasons.

I reckon we may have just had a narrow escape, even more so when you consider his injury record since arriving at the Nou Camp.

Is that a view you concur with?
