Man United team news ahead of Everton game

|

After the 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday night, there were a few injury concerns for Erik ten Hag ahead of Friday’s clash with Everton as both Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial were substituted during the game against the Cherries.

Even though ten Hag could not give a full update on van de Beek’s injury because it was too early after the game had finished but it did not look good for the midfielder as he had to be replaced at the end of the first half. It was a shame that he had to go injured because he played well during the game against the Cherries, but hopefully he is back on the pitch soon playing football.

This is what ten Hag said after the match: “We have to wait and then you can make the right diagnosis, so the medical team have to do their work. But it doesn’t look great.” [via Man Utd]. However, the United manager might provide an update when he speaks to the media at 4.30pm UK time today.

Anthony Martial was taken off in the second half after appearing to take one to the face when trying to score a header, but ten Hag said afterwards that his striker should recover and be available for the FA Cup clash against Everton on Friday night [via Man Utd].

Antony missed the game against Bournemouth because of injury, but he returned to training on Wednesday [Vital United].

Two players that might be back in the starting XI are Diogo Dalot and Lisandro Martinez, as they have both not started for the Reds since the World Cup because Dalot was recovering from an injury sustained at the World Cup with Portugal and Martinez was given a break because of his World Cup exploits with Argentina.

Jadon Sancho has returned to Carrington but he is still on his individual programme [Manchester Evening News].
