United play Leeds again, this time at Elland Road, following a pulsating 2-2 draw on Wednesday night, with United recovering from two goals down, thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, who impressed as he made his return to Premier League duty following a near four-month hiatus.
Antony, Martial and McTominay all missed the 2-2 draw against the Whites at Old Trafford on Wednesday night as they were all ruled out because of injury. Speaking to the media ahead of the clash at Elland Road, ten Hag was asked whether they would be available for Sunday’s clash and the Dutchman answered by saying that he does not think that the trio will be available for the game on Sunday.
“I don’t expect [them to be fit]. We have some days obviously, but I don’t expect it,” Ten Hag told reporters at his pre-match press conference.
“If I can oversee it from now, I don’t see any new problems coming up” [via Man United].
He also added that he does not “expect” all three will make it in time for United’s first-leg clash with Barcelona at the Nou Camp: “I think same answer, I can’t say for 100 percent, but I don’t expect it” [via Man United].
It remains to be seen whether Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be available for United’s visit to West Yorkshire as he missed the game at the Theatre of Dreams because of illness, however, should Wan-Bisska not make it, then United have Diogo Dalot to call upon as the Portuguese returned from injury to take his place in the United starting XI on Wednesday night.
Casemiro will also miss the game against Leeds as he will be serving the second game of his three match ban, while Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are long-term absentees.
