United Switch Their Centre-Back Attentions To A Fresh Target But Is He One For The Future Or For Now?

|

The last time, here at Vital Manchester United, we touched on the subject of the club signing the Leicester City central defender, Harry Maguire, we offered some clinical advice.

Our article, id-leave-well-alone-and-look-elsewhere-united-especially-for-that-kind-of-money, inferred that at the price Leicester City were asking, a price that would make Maguire the most expensive defender in world football, United would be better served looking elsewhere.

According to The Express, that is exactly what the club are doing with our source picking up a piece of transfer tittle-tattle from the French media that implies United are turning their attention to Benoit Badiashile.

Badiashile is currently on the books of the La Ligue side, Monaco but at just 18-years-of-age you have to question whether he’d be able to slot straight into the first-team or would be a player for the future.

I suspect it is the latter which would, as we all know, still leave the club looking for a big-name centre-back to bolster the heart of or defence.

But, would it be churlish to suggest United might surprise us and sign both?
