Opinion: United Priced Out Of The Market When It Comes To Signing This Midfielder

|

The last time we touched on this particular subject, it looked as if, possibly, a deal could be done.

Our article, speculation-linking-united-with-a-midfielder-gathers-momentum-on-a-daily-basis, implied that the increasing speculation relating to the young Newcastle midfielder, Sean Longstaff, joining Manchester United pointed towards the two clubs doing a deal.

Wrong!

It now appears that the two clubs are miles apart in the valuation of the player, according to The Telegraph, with Newcastle United wanting a staggering £50 million for their 21-year-old midfielder.

Seemingly, our referenced source points out that Manchester United were willing to pay between £18 million and £20 million for the young prospect.

To me, sat here in the editorial chair, £50 million seems way too excessive and is, quite clearly, more than the United hierarchy will pay.

Now whether the two clubs will, or can, sit down and negotiate a compromise remains to be seen.

But and here is where we want your input, what would you consider to be the top-end price United should pay for this talented young English midfielder?

Please feel free to drop your viewpoint into the comment facility beneath this article.
