Why Sancho’s return to training is a positive – Opinion

|

When the news came through last night from the reliable United We Stand editor, Andy Mitten, that Jadon Sancho was back training with the first team, the Manchester United fans would have had a smile on their faces [The Athletic].

From a United perspective, it is great to see that Sancho, who last featured for United in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea in October. is back in training with the first team again because it suggests that he is in a good space both mentally and physically as he gets set to play a major part in the second half of the season.

I personally think that if Sancho performs like he did earlier on in the season, where he scored in the victories over Liverpool in August and Leicester in September, then United have a match-winner on their hands, who can play a significant role in helping United compete for trophies this season.

Sancho’s return to training is a welcome boost for Erik ten Hag because he will feel like a new signing, and hopefully with his renewed energy, he can add to the healthy team spirit within the camp, that has seen United win their last eight games in all competitions.

Another positive about Sancho’s return is that he will be returning to a healthy atmosphere at United, which will allow him to express himself because he is a player who can needs the confidence and freedom to be creative on the pitch, which is something that he excels at.

Even though, he has just returned to training, it is unlikely that the England international will feature tonight at Selhurst Park, but Sancho will be hoping that his team-mates can make it nine consecutive wins in a row in all competitions when United take on Crystal Palace at 8pm UK time this evening.
