Manchester United Women thrash rivals, Liverpool Women 6-0 on Sunday.

Marc Skinner made eight changes to the team that beat Sheffield United before Christmas on the FA Continental Cup.

United played one friendly before the return of the Women’s Super League against Maltese club Birkirkara Women where the Red Devils won by an outstanding score line of 10-0.

Spaniard Lucia Garcia opened the scoring for United through her fellow countrymen Ona Batlle’s cross which found Garcia as she converted in the sixth minute.

18 minutes later midfielder Hayley Ladd won the ball high up the pitch from United as Ella Toone played the ball into Russo who doubled Manchester United’s lead.

Just before halftime, Ladd got a goal for herself from another Batlle cross which found Ladd’s head as she guided the ball into the bottom right of the net.

Baltlle got a hattrick of assists as she put the ball in the box for fellow defender Millie Turner who scored in the 63rd minute which resulted in an Emma Koivisto own goal for Liverpool.

Martha Thomas and Rachel Williams added two goals off the bench with 20 minutes to go as United Women beat Liverpool Women for the first time ever in the WSL.
