United Interested In Fulham Youngster But Is It The Right Target?

|

This summer could be a pivotal period in the long and illustrious history of our fine club.

After dropping behind those dominating the upper echelons of English football, it is imperative that the club make the right signings this summer.

Today, the news source, Sky Sports, is reporting that Manchester United are showing an interest in the Fulham left-sided player, Ryan Sessegnon.

It is a link we’ve come across before but although the teenager is tipped to have a great future in the game, one thing troubles me.

As I mentioned in the opening paragraph, Manchester United need to bring in players that can make a difference now, but does Sessegnon fall into that bracket?

I’d suggest not.

Although the teenager impressed immensely in Fulham’s climb into the Premier League and was tipped as a possible surprise inclusion in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad, his progress seemed to stall last season.

Sessegnon, for one reason or another, didn’t surge to prominence as a potential Premier League star.

Therefore, although Sessegnon is a good prospect, if we were to buy him, I feel that he’d be one for the future as opposed to the present.
