Manchester United are close to securing Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer on loan until the end of the season.
In the last few hours, the Austrian midfielder has told Bayern that he would like to move to Manchester United rather than Chelsea because he is more intrigued about Erik Ten Hag’s project.
He has also spoken to the United manager today, as Ten Hag is an admirer of the former RB Leipzig player.

This comes at a great time for the Red Devils with it being announced today that Christian Eriksen will be out until April, after the injury he suffered against Reading on Saturday night.
The 28-year-old did not turn up to training today at Sabener Strabe, which is Bayern’s training ground, this could indicate that he could be on his way to Old Trafford.
Sabitzer has played 15 of the 18 Bundesliga games the Bavarians have played this season so far, scoring one goal and having one assist. [transfermarkt]
Where does he fit in at United?
He can play on the wing but mainly operates as a central midfielder and can play box-to-box but can also play the playmaker role, in a way it would be a like-for-like swap with Eriksen out injured.
The perfect replacement for the Dane could be Sabitzer with a similar playstyle and skillset, he would fit straight into the United starting 11.
