Manchester United beat Charlton 3-0 at Old Trafford to advance to the Semi-Finals of the Carabao Cup.

Erik Ten Hag made eight changes to the side which beat Everton 3-1 on Friday, with Diogo Dalot, Tyrell Malacia and Antony all keeping their place in the starting 11.

Two minutes into the game Alejandro Garnacho tested the Charlton defence for the first time as he put a ball to the arriving Dalot, whose shot went over the bar into the East Stand.

Seven minutes in Garnacho struck a shot which went past Charlton Goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer’s left post.

Fred had a shot blocked 12 minutes into the game as United continued to dominate the ball.

At the 21-minute mark, Antony and Manchester United drew first blood as he whipped the ball into the top left corner. Fred went close twice for the home side with his free-kick effort hitting the post from 25 yards out.

Just before halftime, Tom Heaton was forced into action for the first time in the game.

Charlton made a break on the counterattack with pace in the second half as Scott Fraser blasted the ball over the bar.

Antony Elanga had a goal ruled out due to it being offside. In the 64th minute, Garnacho had an effort saved on the counterattack from a Scott McTominay pass.

Both sides went close to scoring with Christian Eriksen close to adding a second for United, however, Marcus Rashford who scored has now put the ball in the net to add a second for United.

Rashford made it three, four minutes later which means he has now scored for the eighth consecutive game at Old Trafford, which is the most of any player in history.

Manchester United now play Nottingham Forest in the Semi-Finals of the Carabao Cup over two legs.
