United And City’s Valuation Of Transfer Target Differs Hugely

|

As we continue our sweep of the transfer tittle-tattle this morning, the name of Harry Maguire is fairly prominent again.

Previously, Click Here, we covered the inference that the 26-year-old Leicester City centre-back is the player the club wants with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer looking to bring domestic talent to Old Trafford.

However, it would seem any possibility of a deal being sealed quickly is very unlikely.

Lurking in the pages of ESPN, is the insinuation that Manchester United and Leicester City are poles apart when it comes to agreeing on a valuation for the player.

Reading between the lines, it would appear that Manchester United value the player at around £40 million whilst his current club are looking towards a figure of £80 million for their asset.

Now that is quite a difference.

Whether the negotiations will continue, and a compromise can be reached only time will tell.

Our view is that Maguire is a case of better the devil you know having performed in the Premier League and on the international stage with aplomb.

But £80 million, are Leicester City serious?

I’d go no more than £60 million and even then, that leaves me feeling a little uneasy.
