As Ole Gunnar Solksjaer looks to revamp the Manchester United squad, looking to cast aside those who underperform and bring in those with the desire to succeed at Old Trafford, the name of one possible recruit has been put forward by the media.
According to the news vehicle, the Independent, Manchester United are the favourites to sign the Leicester City midfielder James Maddison.
Maddison, after joining Leicester City from Norwich City last summer, made an instant impact in the top-flight.
Such was his contribution Maddison finished the season as the player who created the most scoring chances.
However, perhaps we shouldn’t get too carried away with our fervour to see Maddison join Manchester United, with a fee of £60 million being mentioned, as our referenced source goes on to casually mention that there hasn’t actually been any bid made, just preliminary discussions.
Well let’s hope those discussions come to something positive, Maddison, an England international, is the kind of attacking midfielder our club needs. His creative abilities would prove to be the fulcrum of our attacking play and provide numerous opportunities for whoever is playing in attack for United next season.
