Sky Sports: Sesko to Replace Ronaldo

|

Manchester United have apparently put RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko on their shortlist with Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, with the Red Devils looking to strengthen their striker position for the future.

Sesko was linked to a move to the red part of Manchester this past summer, however fellow Red Bull club to Salzburg, RB Leipzig paid €24 million for the Slovenian with him staying at the club until 2028.

He was loaned back to Salzburg for this season because in the first instance between Salzburg selling to Leipzig they were not too sure but with this loan back for one season included in his deal, he will once again attract the big clubs in Europe.

Making 15 appearances, scoring four goals and having three assists so far this season it looks like he has the potential to reach a high level, nevertheless United have been down this road before with Amad Diallo two seasons ago.

Overpaying for a talent who played in two senior games for Atalanta but Sesko seems to be more proven than Amad was at this stage. The worry is that he signs for United and he does not hit the ground running.

Which is where Dusan Vlahovic comes in, since his move from Fiorentina to the Old Lady, he has not captured the form he had at Gigliati with an outstanding record from last season where he scored 17 goals in 21 games.[transfermarkt]

Allegri does not seem how to fit the Serbian in but at United Ten Hag would know how to relinquish Vlahovic’s form back from his work with Sebastian Haller who struggled at West Ham and then made the move to Ajax.

Where he was outstanding and earnt himself a move to Borussia Dortmund.
