Napoli Striker to Stay Amid United Interest

|

Manchester United transfer target Victor Osimhen will not be moving to Old Trafford anytime soon.

The Napoli number nine said in an interview this week with Il Mattino  “It’s one of the best clubs in Europe and I want to win here.” “The future is this moment, try to win something relevant in Italy.”

He further went on to say “It’s hard to think about something better than Napoli, one of the best clubs in Italy, right now. I am only focused on this season because we haven’t done anything yet. We must win something and then we’ll see what happens.”

The Nigerian was linked to United in the summer, however, with him and Napoli doing so well this season currently sitting top of Serie A and Osimhen scoring 18 goals in last year’s campaign, it seems like he won’t leave.

He has also said that his aim is to win a trophy with Partenopei during his time there. Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti also said at the start of this season that Osimhen is a vital part of his squad.

Before joining the Italian outfit he played for LOSC Lille in Ligue 1 where he impressed under Christophe Galtier and won the league in 2021, with it being a massive shock in French football because of the dominance of Paris Saint Germain over the years and occasionally Monaco and Marseille challenging and winning some titles.

Various other clubs in Europe are interested in signing the striker so if United want to sign him you would think that they have to act quickly, in order to get his signature.
