Manchester United Set To Announce The Signing Of Zlatan Ibrahimovic Mark Two

|

With the summer transfer window set to close at 23:00 hours, on Monday evening, Manchester United are on the verge of pulling off something of a transfer coup.

Numerous news sources, including The BBC, are reporting that the Uruguayan striker, Edinson Cavani, is on his way to Old Trafford to put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal.

Cavani is a proven goal scorer having scored 341 goals in 556 club games while also scoring 50 goals in 116 internationals for his country.

There will be no transfer fee involved, just negotiations over the striker’s salary as Cavani is a free agent after running down his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Some may say that at 33-years-of-age, Cavani has seen better days but then again, they said that about Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Larrson both of whom went on to have more than respectable careers at Old Trafford.

After so little activity in the summer transfer market, is the signing of Cavani the start of a late flurry?

We can but wait and see.
