Manchester United Linked With The Acquisition Of Yet Another Midfielder Believe It Or Not

Is it me or do the media seem to be infatuated with linking Manchester United with assembling a plethora of midfield talent?

During the summer transfer window, Manchester United signed Donny van de Beek, in what was, to me, our only pre-planned move with the others we signed falling into the ‘panic-buy’ scenario.

But, even though van de Beek put pen-to-paper on a contract and Manchester United paid a considerable amount of cash, to Ajax, for the player, he has yet to be used on a significant basis, something we pointed out earlier this month – time-for-manchester-uniteds-forgotten-star-to-shine – therefore, I am a little bemused to see the club linked with the acquisition of yet another midfielder.

According to the Spanish press source, Todofichajes, United are looking to acquire the services of the 26-year-old AC Milan player, Hakan Calhanoglu with our quoted source inferring that the club are hoping to entice the Turkish international, to Old Trafford, by offering to double the wages he is on now.

Now, there may be nothing in the speculation, it may merely be down to his agent throwing the name of our club into the proverbial hat to get his client a new deal, what with his current contract concluding at the end of the current season.

We can only but wait and see!
