Extremely Worrying News For Manchester United Supporters

|

After dominating winning the Premier League title, under the managerial acumen of Sir Alex Ferguson, it seems an age since Manchester United were last crowned champions.

It is, in fact, seven years with our last Premier League title win coming back in 2013.

Therefore, it is probably not too unfair to hope that the next title win is just around the corner, but is it?

Talking to the Sky Sports TV pundit, Jamie Carragher, and as reported by The Metro, Ryan Giggs has given us all something of a reality check.

The Wales manager and Manchester United legend, talking about his former club winning the title again, has remarked:

“100% it could be 10 or 12 years. It could be 15 or 20 years before you know it.

“Especially if Klopp and Guardiola stick around, they’ve got the resources and obviously the players.”

Now 20 years without Manchester United winning the title since they last won it, would be unthinkable, but continuing, Ryan offered a few more sobering thoughts, further adding:

“I think we have got Liverpool to look at, the last time they won it, they thought “we’ll win it again soon.”

“Even Klopp, it took four-and-a-half years to win it, it takes a long time.

“I think what Klopp did, he improved every season or won a trophy, won the Champions League, you see that improvement, so the pressure is off a little bit.

“Whereas every manager, every signing is seen as “he’ll win us the league” but it’s not like that.”

Is Ryan correct?

Has the legend gauged it correctly?

Could it really be another decade before that wonderful trophy is held aloft on the Old Trafford pitch?

If so, you can only ponder on just what effect a lack of a Premier League title win would have on our status in the game.
