Manchester United interested in Crystal Palace Goalkeeper

|

Manchester United are interested in Crystal Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland following the end of Martin Dubravka’s loan as he returns to Newcastle United.

United currently have three goalkeepers at the club with David De Gea being the first-choice keeper with Tom Heaton and Nathan Bishop following as replacements if the Spaniard gets injured.

With Dean Henderson on loan at Nottingham Forest at the moment and seemingly not looking like he will play for United again due to his interview when he joined Forest in the summer, manager Erik Ten Hag is looking to bolster in quality for a backup goalkeeper.

Mike McGrath from the Daily Telegraph and Samuel Luckhurst from the Manchester Evening News are both reporting that Jack Butland is in talks with United to sign on a loan deal until the end of the season, following the end of Martin Dubravka’s loan spell at the club.

United asked Palace if either Jack Butland or former United academy player Sam Johnstone were available on a loan deal to which the South London club replied that Butland is the only one available out of the two English goalkeepers.

The 29-year-old was a starter at Stoke City as he has been linked with big clubs over the years such as Chelsea and United, however, due to injuries Butland has not had the best career many thought he would have had so far.

He has also played for the Three Lions in two major competitions his first in Euro 2012 and his last in 2018 for the World Cup in Russia.

Do you think United should sign Jack Butland on a loan?
