Back in the days when the summer transfer window was open, Manchester United were linked with the acquisition of one of the best English midfielders in the Premier League.

But a deal, as we all know, never materialised with the £80 million fee putting Manchester United (and other clubs) off.
Since the 2020 / 2021 season started though, Grealish has shown just how good a player he has become with the 25-year-old upping his game to another level.
In an Aston Villa side that is coping far better in their second season since returning to the Premier League, Grealish scored 5 goals and provided 6 assists while also establishing himself in Gareth Southgate’s England side.
As a result, speculation relating to his future has once again emerged with The Mirror reporting that several clubs, including Manchester United, are set to compete for his signature.
The reference article goes on to explain that Aston Villa will be reluctant to sell their captain, in the January transfer window, but a transfer war could develop this summer with a fee, said to be of the magnitude of £100 million, possibly tempting Aston Villa to sell.
If that were to be the case, then Manchester United would face stiff opposition from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
Personally, I would love to see Grealish become another piece of what is developing into a fantastic Manchester United jigsaw, but do you feel the same?
