Manchester United Defender Wanted By Bundesliga Club

|

Not that long ago, here at Vital Manchester United, we stumbled upon a piece of transfer speculation surrounding our young full-back, Brandon Williams.

Our article – manchester-united-defender-is-on-southamptons-wish-list – covered the inference that the 20-year-old was on Southampton’s wish-list when it came to the January transfer window, with the south-coast club interested in acquiring Williams on a loan deal.

Scanning through a plethora of Manchester United related gossip today, it appears that the player is interesting another club.

According to Sky Sports Germany the Bundesliga outfit, Bayer Leverkusen, are interesting in taking Williams on a permanent deal.

Leverkusen are on the look out for a full-back after their summer signing, Santiago Arias, suffered a broken leg and ankle ligament damage while on international duty with Colombia.

Reading between the lines, it seems that Manchester United have no problem with Williams going out on loan as the youngster requires regular first team football to aid his development, but the plan does not include a permanent deal.

Williams, despite making 36 appearances in all competitions last season, has struggled this season to force his way into the starting eleven.

My view is that Manchester United would sanction a loan deal, but any permanent deal will not happen as Williams is seen as a player for the future.

But we will have to sit back and wait and see!
