Loan Watch – Part 1

|

Manchester United’s lean contingent played for their respective loan clubs over the weekend and this article will detail how some of the players got on.

Dean Henderson – The England international was between the sticks for Nottingham Forest and played the full 90 minutes in his side’s 2-2 draw at home to Brentford. There was a moment of controversy involving Henderson because the referee thought that he fouled Yoane Wissa in the box to give Brentford a penalty. However, TV replays suggested otherwise because it looked as though there was no contact and that Wissa went down too easily. Henderson was understandably frustrated by the decision and as a result was booked for his protests.

Alex Telles – Alex Telles played 45 minutes in Sevilla’s one-all draw away to Real Betis. The left-back came on a substitute for Marcos Acuna, who was on a yellow card at the start of the second half. It was a feisty contest, which saw Betis reduced to nine men, whilst Sevilla also had a man sent off as they finished the game with 10 men. Telles also got himself booked in this passionate match.

Hannibal Mejbri – The Birmingham City man on loan from Manchester United is enjoying an excellent season in the Midlands as he recorded an assist during Birmingham City’s 2-1 win over Stoke City in the EFL Championship. His assist from a corner kick to Harlee Dean ensured that Birmingham secured all three points.

Amad Diallo – After scoring two goals in his previous three games for Sunderland, Amad came into Sunderland’s clash with Cardiff with confidence as he looked to maintain his goal scoring form. However, the Ivorian, who had two good chances to score, could not add to his tally of two goals for Sunderland as they were defeated 1-0 by Cardiff at the Stadium of Light.
