Happy Times Are Here Again For A Solksjaer Inspired Manchester United

|

It seems an age since Jose Mourinho was in charge at Old Trafford and the dark clouds spent many an hour hovering over the Theatre of Dreams.

Since the sudden departure of the Special One, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has ushered in a new era, an era that, after just three games, has seen the team rejuvenated and the support inside the grand stadium come back out of their shells.

Instead of a dark atmosphere affecting the way the players perform, our latest gaffer, albeit in his temporary role, has lifted the mood as Manchester United return to their glorious best playing free-flowing attacking football.

Okay, the opposition may not have been the best with Manchester United having faced Cardiff City (a), Huddersfield Town (h) and AFC Bournemouth (h) but the old swagger has returned and, after all, you can only beat what is put in front of you.

In those three games, Manchester United have amassed 12 goals but it isn’t something that Solkajaer wants to gloat about, preferring, instead, to look at the defensive aspect of the game, appoint perfectly illustrated by the following quotes that appeared on the BBC,

“Everyone thinks I’m looking for attacking football all the time.

“But the foundation is how you defend – keep a clean sheet and you have a decent chance to win a game of football.”

Indeed you do, but doesn’t it make a refreshing change to keep the scoreboard rolling over with a hint of gung-ho in our style of play?

Next up for Manchester United, on Wednesday evening, is a trip to St James Park, to take on Newcastle United, would you bet against Ole Gunnar Solksjaer making it four wins out of four and 12 points out of 12?

I certainly wouldn’t!

Happy times are here again.
