Pogba Back In The Groove After A Torrid Time During Mourinho’s Last Few Weeks

|

In a matter of weeks, the Manchester United career of Paul Pogba has been revitalised.

From being ostracised during the last few weeks of the reign of Jose Mourinho, the French World Cup-winning midfielder has become the star of the show under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

No longer are we witnessing the frown lines on the face of somebody who believed their Manchester United career was over, instead that smile has returned that suggests our record signing isn’t just enjoying life at Old Trafford again, he’s absolutely loving it.

Against Bournemouth, Pogba was, quite rightly, named as the man-of-the-match thanks to an energy-packed display that included two goals and could, quite easily, have seen the Frenchman gone on to score his first ever hat-trick in a competitive game.

The perfect illustration of just how Pogba’s scenario has changed comes when you look at the goals he has scored since Solksjaer took over. In three games he’s netted four goals, as many as he’d netted in his previous twenty appearances under Mourinho.

Also, in scoring the brace yesterday, Pogba became the first player in eight years to score at least two goals in consecutive games in the Premier League, the last player to do so being Wayne Rooney back in December 2012.

The good times are certainly rolling again for Paul Pogba.
