Croatia Defender on United’s Radar

|

According to GiveMeSport, Manchester United coach Steve McLaren has mentioned to Erik Ten Hag about signing Celtic right-back Josip Juranovic.

Celtic are expecting an offer to come in for the Croatia international next month when the January transfer window opens. Journalists such as Dean Jones and Fabrizio Romano have reported that the Red Devils do have a genuine interest in the 27-year-olds.

Although the number 22 may be interested in signing for a new club in January, he is very focused on playing for Croatia in the World Cup as they have reached the semi-finals for the third time in 24 years.

Dean Jones said to GiveMeSport “I guess, typically, Ten Hag is going to look to prefer his own guys over anyone else recommending people.

“But ultimately, he’s now been able to see him at the World Cup, and it’s a very easy way to scope out a player in real time, especially when they’re playing games of their own.”

Juranovic rejected a new offer from Ange Postecoglou and Celtic, which has meant that the circulation of transfer news and rumours has led to him maybe joining a new club.

His performances for Croatia in the World Cup have set him apart from the other right-backs in the tournament and now he is in the semi-finals against Lionel Messi and Argentina all eyes will be on him and his teammates to stop Albiceleste.

He made the move to Parkhead last season from Polish team Legia Warszawa, it would seem that the World Cup star would give competition to the current Manchester United starting right-back Diogo Dalot.
