Wolves vs Manchester United Preview

|

Manchester United travel down to the Black Country tomorrow where they play Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves’ last game was on boxing day away at Everton where they won 2-1 with left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri scoring in the 95th minute as the Wanderers went back to the midlands with all three points.

They currently sit in the relegation zone in 18th place with 13 points, a win against United would mean they would move up to 15th in the Premier League.

Manchester United’s last match was against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday where the Red Devils won 3-0 with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Fred all scoring United need a win to get into the top four to keep the pressure up on Spurs who sit in fourth one point above Erik Ten Hag’s team.

Both teams will be going into the match with confidence as Wolves have lost just one of their last nine league games played on New Year’s Eve, winning four and drawing four.

The Reds will have belief that they can win the game as they have not lost their final league game in any of the last 10 calendar years, the last time they lost was in 2011 to Blackburn Rovers who won 3-2, that loss is still their only loss ever in the Premier League on New Year’s Eve.

When asked about the impact of Wolves new manager Julien Lopetegui, Ten Hag replied saying “As you just said, I finished this game [against Nottingham Forest]. And now I have had a look at their base formation. I had a short look at [Wolves] performance against Everton and I took notice of it. But to be in detail and think about a game plan, no I am not that far [yet].”[Man United]

The match will kick off tomorrow at 12:30 at Molineux with the game being aired live on BT Sport.
