What ten Hag should do for the Reading game – Opinion

|

Manchester United take on Reading in the FA Cup forth round at Old Trafford tomorrow night and I think this is a good opportunity for the Dutchman to give an opportunity to those players who have not featured that much in recent weeks.

With United having a jam packed schedule that will see the Reds play a game every three days over the next month or so, it is vital that ten Hag makes full use of his squad, and this can also boost the morale of the players because they will recognise that they are still a vital part of the manager’s plans.

With that in mind, I would think of bringing in players such as Fred and Facundo Pellistri, for example because they have not started or featured as much as they would have liked in recent weeks. I am hoping that Pellistri plays because in the two substitute appearances that he made against both Charlton Athletic and Nottingham Forest, the Uruguayan looked extremely lively and caused both defences some issues.

Even though, I said that I think ten Hag should give minutes to those on the periphery, I still think that he should potentially play 3 or 4 first team regulars, just so that United have enough quality to get the job done against Reading, and once United are comfortable, I would consider taking the players off after 55 or 60 minutes.

The game against Reading, kicks off at 8pm UK time and it will be shown live on ITV Sport for those who are in the UK.
