United’s Hopes Of Signing Portuguese Midfielder Dealt A Blow

|

Sporting Lisbon reject United bid for talented midfielder.

Earlier this week, as the transfer speculation relating to this player, grew in intensity, we had our-suspicions-that-united-were-getting-closer-to-signing-a-classy-midfielder with the club closing in on acquiring the services of the 24-year-old Sporting Lisbon player, Bruno Fernandes.

Unfortunately, a deal has not been concluded and officially announced yet.

In fact, according to The Express, Sporting Lisbon don’t, at the moment, want to play ball.

Picking up on something in the Italian media, our quoted source reports that Sporting Lisbon have rejected an opening offer for Fernandes.

Seemingly the Portuguese club want more than the £31 million United have offered.

Now, how much more remains to be seen.

But, as you’d expect in a deal of this nature, negotiation appears to be the name of the game.

It just, in our opinion, remains to be seen where, on the financial scale, both clubs strike a happy medium.

Anyone care to hazard a guess of the size of any agreed fee?

I’ll stick my neck out and suggest it’ll be around the £36 million mark.
