Yesterday, as we ran through the transfer tittle-tattle, we had a piece of news relating to the French defender, Jules Kounde.
Our article – united-not-interested-at-that-price – covered the speculation implying that the Old Trafford hierarchy were not prepared to match the price Sevilla wanted for their 22-year-old defender.
Today, courtesy of Europsport another possible acquisition is suggested.
According to our source, Manchester United could well, with the pandemic affecting financial revenue, turn their attention to a cheaper option.
The player mentioned is Pau Torres, a 24-year-old Spanish centre-back who is on the books of the La Liga side, Villarreal, books.
It seems this option is available for a fee, said to be of the magnitude, of £43 million.
But is he as good as Kounde?
Not being a connoisseur of La Liga, I will leave you to answer that question.
