United midfielder to miss the game against Arsenal

|

Manchester United’s midfielder Casemiro will now miss the game against Arsenal because he picked up a yellow card during the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last night.

The reason as to why the Brazilian will miss the game at the Emirates is because he has picked up five yellow cards and the threshold for five yellow cards ends at the halfway stage of the Premier League season, so teams must have played 19 games for the suspension rule to be wiped out.

The United number 18 had done so well to restrict himself from getting booked, but as the game progressed, United lost control and Palace were getting into dangerous situations and Casemiro gave the referee, Rob Jones a reason to caution him because he fouled Wilfred Zaha in the 80th minute.

Losing the former Real Madrid man is a big blow for United but it is extremely frustrating that the referee did not give a penalty for the foul on Scott McTominay, or he should have been instructed by the VAR official to go and have a look at the monitor because had United been given the penalty, they would have had the opportunity to make it 2-0. If United had successfully converted the penalty that should have been given, then Casemiro would have inevitably come off, as ten Hag looked disappointed when the Brazil international picked up the booking.

Fred, who was also walking a tightrope as he was on four yellow cards but he managed to avoid himself from getting booked, which will give him a good chance of replacing his United team-mate for the game against the league leaders on Sunday.

Who would you start in midfield instead of Casemiro?
