United legend says he is “mesmerised” by the job that manager is doing is

Speaking on his own podcast after Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Gary Neville heaped further praise on the Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag.

Since arriving at United, the Dutchman has seen a complete transformation of the club from last season, where there were major problems and fans could hardly see a light at the end of the tunnel.

However, six months on, United fans now see a brighter future as ten Hag currently has United sitting in forth place in the Premier League and the club are on a five game winning streak in the league. Their latest victory came against Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday as goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford sealed a 2-1 win for ten Hag’s side.

Gary Neville said that the job that the Dutchman is currently doing at United is “mesmerising”.

“I’ll be honest with you Martin [Tyler], I am mesmerised by the job that Erik ten Hag has done. If you had said to me, three or four months ago, this is where Manchester United would be [in the top four], I’d have said no chance.

“I though they had overpaid for Antony, I though they had overpaid for Casemiro, I thought it was the usual Manchester United panic, so it is worth noting in moments like this that we should go too far but the job that the manager has done, just on the pitch with the players, how he has brought them together. The way that he has dealt with big situations” [Gary Neville Podcast].

The United manager has had a lot thrown at him in such a short space of time, but he has dealt with it all brilliantly well, and from a United perspective, this should stand the club in good stead because it shows everyone who the boss is.

Neville and the United fans will be hoping that ten Hag can inspire his team to another victory on Wednesday night against Crystal Palace in what is an important game for United’s quest to finish in the top four places.
