Two Reds in the Round of 16 TOTW

Two Manchester United players have been selected in Sofascore’s, Round of 16 Team of the Week, for their impressive performances at the Last 16 stage of the World Cup.

Even though, several United players had good showings in the Round of 16, such as Luke Shaw, Casemiro and Raphael Varane to name a few, the two Manchester United players that were selected by Sofascore were Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot after the paid helped Portugal trounce Switzerland 6-1 at the Lusail Stadium and book their spot in the quarter finals, where they will face Morocco.

Fernandes and Dalot both contributed to Portugal’s demolition of Switzerland. Fernandes assisted Portugal’s second goal after his pinpoint corner was headed home by Pepe and Dalot also got in on the act as he his deflected low cross was tapped in by Goncalo Ramos, who scored a hat-trick in his first ever World Cup start.

Even though, Sofascore did not award Dalot with the assist, the United right-back was awarded an 8.2 rating [Sofacscore.com] for his display as he put in an excellent shift when attacking and defending.

Dalot won 100 percent of his duels and won four out four tackles as he kept Ruben Vargas quiet, and the United number 20 also produced a goal-line clearance.

Bruno Fernandes, deployed on the right of Portugal’s front three, continued his excellent World Cup form as he was awarded an 8.1 rating by Sofascore [Sofascore.com], in what was an all action display from the Portuguese magnifico. Fernandes created two big chances to go with the one assist that he got in the win over Switzerland and his passing was efficient and effective as he had a passing accuracy of 86% percent, which is brilliant for an attacker.
