Ten Hag makes two changes for Palace encounter

|

Erik ten Hag has named his Manchester United team to take on Crystal Palace and it includes two changes from the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.

David de Gea returns to take his place between the sticks as he replaces Tom Heaton and in front of the Spaniard, ten Hag has opted for a back four of, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw, who all started the game against Steve Cooper’s side in the Carabao Cup semi-final at Old Trafford.

The United manager has named an unchanged midfield two of Casemiro and Fred from the Forest encounter, which means that new signing Marcel Sabitzer, who joined the club on loan from Bayern Munich on Deadline Day, will take his place on the substitute bench.

Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford have all been selected for the game against the Eagles and they will be hoping to help United make it 13 consecutive home wins in a row, which is a run that started when United beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Old Trafford back in the middle of October.

Rashford is the other change and he comes into the line-up to replace Alejandro Garnacho, who takes his place on the bench for the game against the South London outfit.

Anthony Martial is not in the entire matchday squad, which means that Wout Weghorst keeps his place from the win over Forest and United will be hoping that the Dutchman can score his first Old Trafford goal as the Reds look to strengthen their position in the top four.  Jadon Sancho is on the bench for United this afternoon and the rest of the substitutes can be seen in the tweet above.

The game between United and Palace kicks off at 3pm UK time, and for those in the UK, the game will not be shown on TV.

United Starting XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Fred, Antony, Fernandes, Rashford, Weghorst.
