Manchester United take on Everton in the FA Cup third round at Old Trafford tonight and this is the team that I think Erik ten Hag will go with.

David de Gea – I think David de Gea will start in goal tonight as he looks to build upon an impressive clean sheet record that has seen him not concede at Old Trafford since September when Bukayo Saka scored for Arsenal.
Diogo Dalot – Despite Aaron Wan-Bissaka playing well in the last four competitive fixtures that United have had, I think he will be given a rest tonight, which should see Dalot start.
Raphael Varane – After being rested for the game against Bournemouth, I think there is a good chance that Varane starts.
Lisandro Martinez – After coming on in the 3-0 win over the Cherries, I think United’s returning World Cup winner will make his first start for the Reds since the 2-1 win over Fulham, just before the World Cup,
Tyrell Malacia – After playing the first three games since the World Cup, Malacia was on the bench for the game against Gary O’Neil’s side but I would expect to come in at left-back for the outstanding Luke Shaw, who deserves a rest.
Casemiro – I think ten Hag will take this game seriously, so I expect him to start the Brazilian from the start but it would be great if United are winning comfortable because it will hopefully allow Casemiro to come off in the second half as United need to look after him.
Fred – I have a feeling that ten Hag will start Fred instead of Christian Eriksen, and after a number of positive substitute appereances, I would like to see Fred rewarded with a start.
Bruno Fernandes – Had Donny van de Beek not suffered that injury, I would have expected him to start but I think that Fernandes will play in the number 10 role instead.
Marcus Rashford – I think Rashford will start tonight on the right hand side of the front three.
Anthony Martial – Given that the Frenchman is fit and available, I would think he will start from the off as United look to make a fast start against Everton.
Alejandro Garnacho – After a promising display against the Cherries last time out, I think ten Hag will start the Argentine from the start.
