It was a shame that van de Beek had fo go off because in the 44 minutes that he did play, he played well and it looked as though he was taking his opportunity.
The game against the Cherries was only the Dutch midfielder’s second Premier League start of the season after he started the game against Aston Villa back in November.
This latest set back will come as a blow to van de Beek and United because the Reds have a lot of games to navigated in the second half of the season and they need all of their players if they are to go far in all four competitions.
