One of Britain’s richest man wants ” a full takeover” of Manchester United

|

Speaking on the Talk of the Devils Podcast on Thursday, The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell is reporting that he has been told that Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants a “full takeover” as he aims to get the keys to own Manchester United.

Last week, it was reported by the Times, that Ratcliffe, declared his intentions to publicly buy Man United with his INEOS company, who have links with Ligue 1 club Nice in France and the cycling team INEOS Grenadiers and Whitwell has been told that the boyhood United fans wants a “full takeover” rather than a partial sale, which is an outcome that will go down well with the Man United fans, who have been desperate to get rid of the Glazers for a long time.

“One of the things that I am told from Ratcliffe’s point of view is that he wants a full takeover, this isn’t something where he is going to pay for, you know 20 to 30 percent to be in partnership with the Glazers. I very much believe that is the case” [Talk of the Devils].

United are in need of a full sale because the club needs major redevelopment of both Old Trafford and Carrington because under the current owners, United’s facilities are second rate, and are not the best anymore and one of the reasons as to why that is the case is because they have hardly put any financial investment towards improving the facilities.

If United were to get a full sale, then it is likely that the new owners would improve the infrastructure of the club, which needs rapid improvement if United want to match the elites of European football.
