Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United Preview

Manchester United travel to Nottingham Forest for their first leg of the Carabao Cup Semi-Finals tomorrow night.

Nottingham Forest’s journey to the Semi-Finals started off in the second round against Grimsby Town playing away and winning 3-0, as they played their B team with some youth team players in to advance into the third round.

Where they played Tottenham and won 2-0 with former United player Jesse Lingard scoring as well as loanee Renan Lodi, as both goals came within seven minutes of each other.

The reds were then back on the road up to former fellow Championship club Blackburn Rovers, which they won 4-1, with Brennan Johnson scoring a brace.

Then the most recent dramatic Carabao Cup game was in the Quarter Finals against Wolves. The City ground had an intense atmosphere as players from both sets of teams were putting all they had into the game.

After a 1-1 in normal time, the game went to penalties where United loanee player Dean Henderson helped Steve Cooper’s side to the Semi-Finals.

United’s first game in the League Cup was on the 10th of November where they beat Aston Villa 4-2 after defeat to the Villains four days prior to the game in the Premier League.

The Red Devils next faced Vincent Kompany’s Burnley with Erik Ten Hag knowing it would be a tough game, he started a strong starting 11.

As United prevailed and moved on to the next round with a 2-0 win, with goals coming from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford.

In the Quarter Finals came League 1 opposition which United took care of inside 90 minutes as they won 3-0.
