Just recently, we covered speculation that implied Juan Mata had turned down an opportunity to move to the Chinese Super League.

Mata`s contract, at Old Trafford, expires at the end of this season and at the recent Soccerex convention, the topic of joining a Chinese Club was broached.

Mata, 29-years-of-age, was, according to the news source, The Sun, offered a pay packet, to make the move, of a staggering £375,000 after tax, a phenomenal amount of cash.

But, according to quotes in our referenced source, which read,

“Juan was offered a sizable amount of money to go to China. They were visiting last month and made it to his reps.

He sees his future here though and is determined to stay. He hasn’t got long left but the option on his contract will almost-certainly be taken up.

“The club don’t want him to leave on a free next summer. He is represented by his dad and has been pushing for a longer-term deal.”

Mata has no intention of leaving Manchester United Football Club and wants to add, significantly, to the 118 appearances he has already made for the club.
