Manchester United vs Everton Preview

|

Manchester United host struggling Everton in the third round of the FA Cup at Old Trafford on Friday night at eight o’clock.

Everton are currently two places above the drop in 16th place in the Premier League, with the Toffees only winning four games out of the 18 matches they have played in the top division in England this season.

Their last outing was at home to Brighton on Tuesday where they lost 4-1, with the home side having six minutes of madness as Robert De Zerbi’s side scored three goals in six minutes.

Everton manager Frank Lampard gave his reaction to the loss when he said “I didn’t hate the first half but, obviously, the six minutes is not good enough from us and if you perform like that defensively then you will lose games.” [Everton]

However, fans on social media have voiced their opinions and still think change is needed at the top of the club.

In contrast to their draw on New Year’s Eve at Manchester City where the Merseyside club earned a solid point from how defensively sound they were, it seems like it is at United it is not about what is happening now but what change can happen for the better of the club in the future.

Manchester United are on a seven-win unbeaten run as they last played Bournemouth on Tuesday winning 3-0 with Casemiro, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford all getting on the scoresheet as United moved five points clear of Tottenham in fifth.

Ten Hag’s Red Devils will look to start their FA Cup campaign in a positive way as trophies look to be the main aim for United this season.
