According to Vital England, Gary Neville would be worth taking to the World Cup!

Vital England says: Neville, ‘probably’ the best right back of his generation, and most definitely one of the finest right backs that England has produced has managed to stay fit for Man United for some time now and looks in good form – despite not playing for England for several years in all honesty I think I could see the benefits of including him in the 23-man squad, as much as I laughed off the suggestion when it first came about a couple of months back!

The guy has a wealth of experience and is as good as any right back we have at the moment for me. Glen Johnson would still be the right back I would go for, and I think he will be Capello’s favoured man, but as an alternative for selected games, or back-up to the Liverpool man in South Africa I think we could do a lot worse, right?

I would not hesitate to include the 35-year-old ahead of his Man United teammate Wes Brown; the guy fills me with little confidence that he is a worthy right back. Micah Richards cannot get a look-in these days and not many other names are ‘beating down’ Capello’s door are they…
