A Chance To Have Your Say On Manchester United’s Summer Transfer Window Dealings

|

After the thrashing Tottenham Hotspur handed out to Manchester United, last Sunday, it was a miserable time to be a United supporter.

I perhaps was not the only supporter who was looking, the following day, for the summer transfer deadline to provide me with the perfect pick-me-up.

Having already signed Donny van de Beek, Manchester United proceeded to add Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri to the squad.

But will the addition of those four mentioned help to narrow the gap, a gap which some would say is enormous, between Manchester United and the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City when it comes to challenging for the title?

I would like to think so, but I have my doubts.

After all, Manchester United failed to add a centre-back to the squad when one, on the evidence of this season, is sorely needed.

I also cannot help wondering why the club was left desperately scratching around to bring players to the club so close to the transfer window slamming shut.

Did we waste too much time chasing Jadon Sancho, in a deal that was never going to happen when you consider what the total package would cost?

To me, it was, when needs dictated otherwise, a disappointing transfer window.

But is that a view you concur with?

One word will describe the 2020 Summer transfer window for Manchester United – “shambles”
    1. Right wing – Sancho was deemed too expensive, but other established alternatives were not signed, or were the subject of poor offers.
    2. Central defence – no attempt to remedy the hole that was so apparent last season.
    3. Centre forward – signed on deadline day, meaning he is unable to play because of quarantine rules.
    4. “Deadwood” – the desire to look for a deal that was never going to happen, means United will need to continue paying wages for another nine months (Marcos Rojo !)
It’s time to jettison those that are not performing – Matt Judge and Ed Woodward. If the Glazers are the problem, then those two should either set the record straight or walk away.

OGS is not up to the job, tactics, substitutions, indecisive. Passion from the touchline non existent from him and Carrick. Team selection he always picks De Gea any defence would be shaky with him in goal, 11 goals conceded in three league games, and dont forget Brighton struck the woodwork 5 or 6 times.
