The long wait is almost over.
After a string of pre-season friendly fixtures the new 2019 / 2020 season gets underway, for Manchester United this Sunday when we welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford.
As far as opening day fixtures go, it is fair to say it is an intriguing one with the West London side now being managed by Frank Lampard.
With Manchester United looking to make the Premier League title race, this season, much closer than last season, when Manchester City and Liverpool disappeared over the horizon, we’re all hoping that the side gets off to a good start, even more so after the disappointing manner in which they finished the 2018 / 2019 season.
But, looking at the first three fixtures, reproduced below:
• Chelsea (h)
• Wolverhampton Wanderers (a)
• Crystal Palace (h)
Manchester United have not been handed the easiest of starts.
