What About the Carbon Footprint?

I heard a story last week that, in a way, made me smile, although I can`t think it is much of a laughing matter for the player concerned.

The story told of how our Dutch player Daley Blind has shunned the possibility of living on one of the plush settlements on the outside of the city but has instead chosen to live in the heart of the city.

In fact it goes on to inform us that Daley lives in a plush apartment in the heart of the city with his apartment being dead opposite the hotel the team uses for all home games.

But, instead of simply trotting across the road to join his team-mates for the coach ride to Old Trafford, Daley has to make his way to where the team assembles, climb aboard the coach, head back towards the hotel that is dead opposite his apartment and then, when the time comes, make the journey to Old Trafford.

I wonder if Daley`s ever tempted to stick his hand up and ask Louis van Gaal if he can pop across the road to make sure he hasn`t left any gas or electrical appliances on!
