With the opening of the January transfer window just over a month away, speculation has appeared in one tabloid paper relating to the future of Luke Shaw.

It is widely accepted that the 22-year-old left-back is set to leave Manchester United having seen his chances of a regular starting place diminished through injury and an apparent fall-out with Jose Mourinho.

According to the popular red-top publication, the Sunday Mirror, Shaw could be heading out on loan spell for the remainder of the season.

Our referenced source is of the opinion that Rafael Benitez wants to acquire the services of the former England defender to boost his ailing Newcastle side.

A loan move, to a fresh club, could be exactly what Shaw requires and his performances could provide the impetus for a permanent move to St James Park.

However, once the transfer window opens, we fully expect there to be several clubs interested in the talented defender.
