In all fairness, it has been quite a while since we covered any speculation relating to the future of our excellent Spanish goalkeeper, David de Gea.

But, with the January transfer window looming large on the horizon, we didn`t think it would be too long before the names of David de Gea and Real Madrid appeared in the same sentence.

That is precisely the case this morning with the news source, Talksport picking up on something covered by the Spanish news vehicle, Don Balon.

It would appear that the Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos, according to our quoted sources, has urged the club to go all out to bring the 27-year-old keeper to the Bernabeu.

Ramos believes that de Gea is the perfect candidate to fill the Real Madrid goalkeeping position for years to come.

Furthermore, Ramos believes that the case to sign de Gea is further boosted by the fact his companion in the Spanish national side is used to playing under pressure.

Now whether anything comes of this speculation we can but wait and see but, no doubt, the media speculation will go into overdrive as the next bout of the silly season closes in on us.
