United players pictured training ahead of City clash

The Manchester United players have been pictured working hard at Carrington ahead of the Manchester derby, which takes place tomorrow lunchtime.

Erik ten Hag’s side go into this blockbuster clash against their local rivals in fine form, having won eight consecutive games in all competitions, whilst City are reeling from their shock Carabao Cup defeat to Southampton at St Mary’s where they lost 2-0.

New signing, Jack Butland was pictured walking out on to the grass with Scott McTominay as the preparations ramped up for the huge match on Saturday.

Lisandro Martinez, who completed his first 90 minutes since his World Cup triumph with Argentina, looked in good spirits as he prepares for his first home Manchester derby, and the Reds will be looking to perform better than they did in the 6-3 derby day defeat earlier this season.

Facundo Pellistri and Alejandro Garnacho, who both played well against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night looked focus as they prepared for training on Thursday.

Kobbie Mainoo, who made his first-team debut against Dean Holden’s side was also training with the first team ahead of the Premier League clash and training alongside the first team players on a regular basis will do his development the world of good because he will understand the standards that are expected of a Manchester United player on a daily basis.

The game between United and City, in what will be the 189th Manchester derby, gets underway at 12.30pm UK time on Saturday, and for those in the UK, the game will be shown on BT Sport.
